Yes No Maybe So: “Avengers: Endgame”

Handful of things in the world are as steady as Marvel shows. Once every few months, one comes in and it is an EVENT. Avengers: Endgame is probably the most anticipated film sequel since The Matrix Reloaded in 2003, and though that didn’t go well, they have safe to say that legions are excited again. Amazing still being Marvel, they don’t want to give too much at a distance so the trailers have been teaser-like. The new one dropped currently, so let’s do our patented Yes, No, Might be So after the jump…

How about a shoutout to Joe Silvestri? The original Avengers theme has become iconic and that fishing hook line provides shivers every time. Very effective throughout.

Marvel is very keeping this one close to the chest. No Thanos, no teasing of dead characters, not even an indication that Tony Stark will make it back alive. We all know that won’t keep, but let’s appreciate the effort

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is absolutely not having the best post-snap time. It looks like he is going to be taking on the role of Ronin for good measure. Hawkeye seldom got a passing mention in Infinity War, nevertheless it looks like his role will be significant here

You really forget about how affecting the disintegrations were until Thor re-lives them all

Frankly, I’m impressed at the different levels of Scarlett Johansson’s hair at this point. This is her seventh MCU film and no repeats yet. She even changes in the middle in this one! download avengers endgame 720p

There are some pairings that Marvel figured out worked incredibly early on, and Hawkeye and Black Widow just join hands. Renner and Johansson have the perfect buddy/co-worker energy and it will be on full display here

Speaking of pairings, I am facts concerning a duo I didn’t know I needed. I have an awesome feeling about Rocket/War Machine

We get the Right Stuff jogging scene, but it looks like everyone is in quantum suits. You will like indication that the quantum realm/time travel will play a role

Brie Larson finally shows up at the end, and gets some experience time with Chris Hemsworth. Another pair we need really, though everyone does a great job when they’re playing other Hemsworth.

Is there anyone who is watching Endgame without knowing the backstory of Iron Man, Thor and Captain The us? We get it, things have changed, time has passed. Will leave your site and go to the new story!

Mark Ruffalo was really great in Infinitude, infiniteness War and they do little to nothing with the pup in this one. We hope he has an arc, but he / she barely gets a close-up!

This has little to do with the actual trailer, but the marketing in general. Danai Gurira’s Okoye obtains a few shoutouts in the trailer and prominent placement for the poster, but isn’t even listed in the credits? Does indeed she have a significant role to play?

Maybe So

Karen Gillan has not exactly had a lot to work with, but I quite like her primal screeching while on the attack

Who is eventually left that we could be missing? Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is really the one character anyone cared about who hasn’t shown almost any indication of showing up. How will the living Wakandans be the cause?

The film has a three-hour runtime. Supposedly, these trailers only show images from the first hour of the movie. It sure seems like a lot to unpack. Infinity War were feeling too bloated, and this might have the same issues, proving seeing that overpacked as the movie poster.

What exactly is the plot? Could the Avengers want to bring everyone back, but they are definitely not giving much indication of how that is going to happen

Apparently, Larson filmed this before doing Captain Marvel, and that generally gives us pause. Her Carol Danvers was a interestingly welcome characterization in her solo film, but since the woman shot this first, here’s hoping it stays reliable throughout.
